free from是英文合同中经常出现的结构，它的含义非常丰富：免于；不受......影响；免受等等。这些都是其基本含义，但是法律文件中，匠匠查阅了很多资料，这个结构基本上可以归结为一种译法，即“不存在”，或者根据情况，灵活一些，可以译为“无”、“没有”或者“未设定”等等，这样再遇到这个结构，大家翻译起来也会方便一些，不必想得太过复杂，下面请参考两个例句：

The Property is in good repair and free from material structural defects, destruction or Casualty, and all building systems contained in the Property are in good working order, subject to ordinary wear and tear.

物业维护状态良好，不存在实质结构性瑕疵或损毁、且未发生任何事故。受限于一般性磨损，物业中包含的所有建筑体系均处于良好的工作状态。
