在过很多关于国际贸易英文书籍中，尤其在关于跨国货物运输中经常会出现 “carrier”和 “shipper”两个词，从字面上来看，两个单词都是指“做…的人”。关于carrier及shipper，carrier指国际运输关系中的承运人，shipper指托运人，可以是买方，也可以是卖方，但是一般在国际贸易中，托运方多数情况是卖方，因此shipper有时也译为卖方
