prior to是法律英语中最常使用的结构，意思为“......之前”，与before相似，但是比before正式，且不可替换，在翻译文件的过程中，我总结了3种prior to的使用情形，并且都有对应的例句在后面供大家参考：

（1）prior to放在句首，表示“在......之前”，后面跟v-ing形式；

（2）without the prior (written) consent of sb 

     在没有某人事先（书面）同意的情况下；

（3）___ days prior to......，某件事之前的____天。

Prior to initially directing the use of such proceeds,the Company’s Board of Directors shall first consult the Subscriber on the general scope of use of the proceeds and take into account any reasonable suggestions or comments from the Subscriber.
