find在法律英语中除了我们常见的“发现，找到”这层含义之外，还可以表示“裁决”“查明”等含义。

例If a people's court finds that a case it has entertained is not under its jurisdiction, it shall refer the case to the people's court that has jurisdiction over the case.

【参考译文】 入民法院发现受理的案件不属于本院管辖的，应当移送有管辖权的人民法院。

例 She was found guilty of manslaughter and put on probation for two years.

【参考译文】她被判过失杀人罪，缓刑两年。

例The trial court found for defendant, holding where plaintiff's articles had no commercial or practical use and defendant already paid for development of the patent.

【参考译文】初审法院做出了有利于被告的判决，认为原告的物品没有商业或实际用途，而被告已经支付了专利开发的费用。

此处的find即“判决”之意，当取此意时，find for sb即“做出有利于某人的判决”，也可以用find in sb's favour 来表达同一个意思。
