Submit，yield和surrender三个动词均含“屈服、投降”之意。三个词常用的语境略有不同，在此做具体介绍。

Submit一般指放弃抵抗，接受对方的权威或控制，倾向于【不得以屈服】 。

在法律英语中，该词的含义为：表示；认为；主张；建议，如：Counsel for the defence submitted that the evidence was inadmissible. 被告律师认为这一证据不可采纳。

Yield也指屈服，倾向于由于缺乏坚强的意志、力量和忍耐心，而屈从于【他人的权势、控制】 或 【事物的诱惑】 等。如：I yielded to temptation and had a chocolate bar. 我经不住诱惑，吃了一大块巧克力。

Surrender 则倾向于指在【军事和战争中】被迫投降。如：unconditional surrender指的是“无条件投降”；forced to surrender. 指的是“被迫投降”。
