Accident、incident、event三词均有“事件、事故”之意，但是强调的事件的大小和重要性有所不同，以下做简要介绍、

Accident做事件事故讲时强调【偶然或意外发生的事情】，通常是【消极的事件】。如：a car/road/traffic accident 车祸；公路事故；交通事故，a fatal accident 死亡事故。

Incident 含义较广，常指严重事件，暴力事件（如犯罪、事故、袭击等）或两国间的）摩擦，冲突；（常指）军事冲突，如：a border/diplomatic incident 边境╱外交冲突。

也可指小事件，但通常为【消极的事件】，如：an isolated incident 个别事件。

Event常指历史上的特殊、重大的事件，常用搭配：historical event 历史事件，great event 重大事件。
