《赠别》杜牧
多情却似总无情,
唯觉尊前笑不成。
蜡烛有心还惜别,
替人垂泪到天明。
译文一 Bynner
How can a deep love seem a deep love?
How can it smile, at a farewell feast?
Even the candles, feeling our sadness,
Weeps, as we do, all night long.
译文二 许渊冲
Though deep in love, we seem not in love in the least,
Only feeling we cannot smile at farewll feast,
The candle has a wick just as we have a heart.
All night long it sheds tears for us before we part.
笔者赏析(仅供参考):
The original poem is about a fourteen or five little children who are full of affection. The emotion in the first translation is more intense and mature, but the words and meanings in the translation are too flexible. "蜡烛有心还惜别" is a famous pun sentence, the second translation of the deepening of the candle wick and the hearts of people have been translated, can be regarded as a word and meaning of the flexible.
