不方便法院原则（forum non conveniens doctrine）：

不方便法院原则也有人称之为非方便法院原则、不便管辖原则，是指“在国际民事诉讼活动中，由于原告可自由选择一国法院而提起诉讼，他就可能选择对自己有利而对被告不利的法院。该法院虽然对案件具有管辖权，但如审理此案将给当事人及司法带来种种不便之处，从而无法保障司法公正，不能使争议得到迅速有效的解决。
