“Exhibit”

His work was exhibited in the best galleries in America, Europe and Asia. He could exhibit a saint-like submissiveness. The new exhibit will tour a dozen US cities next year.

其英文释义为“a document or other object that a lawyer shows in court as evidence in a legal case.”。同为“证据”,Exhibit不完全等同于“testimony”( a formal written or spoken statement saying what you know to be true, usually in court),后者更偏向于“证词;证言;口供”,前者更偏向于“证物”。

The first exhibit was a knife which the prosecution claimed was the murder weapon.

His testimony was an important element of the prosecution's case.

The jury has already asked to see more than 40 exhibits from the trial.
