汉译英中，在翻译“不超过……天”、“届满……”时，首先会想到的就是not exceed ... days 或者 ... days has expired，但除此之外，elapse也可以用于这一类的时间表达。以下为部分法律文件中的双语示例。一起用起来吧！

The Company shall in each year hold a general meeting as its annual general meeting in addition to any other meetings in that year and shall specify the meeting as such in the notices calling it; and not more than 15 months shall elapse between the date of one annual general meeting of the Company and that of the next (unless a longer period would not infringe the Ordinance and the Listing Rules).
