Disappeared Person，在法律英语中指的是“被宣告人失踪”。

Disappeared Person：absent from place of residence for at least seven continuous years;whereabouts unknown by person most likely to know whereabouts(for seven years as above);has not communicated with person above.

被宣告人失踪指，至少连续七年不在居住地；最有可能知道其下落的人下落不明(七年以上);没有与上述人员联系过。

在我国，公民被宣告失踪法律后果如下：

(1)失踪人口的财产由财产代管人管理;

(2)一方被宣告失踪，另一方提出离婚诉讼的，应准予离婚;

《民法总则》第二十一条：

失踪人的财产由他的配偶、父母、成年子女或者关系密切的其他亲属、朋友代管。代管有争议的，没有以上规定的人或者以上规定的人无能力代管的，由人民法院指定的人代管。失踪人所欠税款、债务和应付的其他费用，由代管人从失踪人的财产中支付。

《民法典》第四十六条：

自然人有下列情形之一的，利害关系人可以向人民法院申请宣告该自然人死亡：

(一)下落不明满四年;

(二)因意外事件，下落不明满二年。

因意外事件下落不明，经有关机关证明该自然人不可能生存的，申请宣告死亡不受二年时间的限制。”

They must be submitted in writing with a clear indication of the identity of the sender; if the source is other than a family member, it must have direct consent of the family to submit the case on its behalf, and it must also be in a position to follow up with the relatives of the disappeared person concerning his or her fate.
