“暂住证”(英文：Temporary Residence Permit ) 这个词据说为深圳首创，用以登记外来流动人口，并为流动人口提供相应服务。后来暂住证制度在中国流传开来，暂住证是特定时期的人口管理方式，中国不少地区已取消暂住证，由居住证代替。
